Story
Every pea deserves a place to rest between courses. Until now there has been nowhere suitable to put one.
The rest
The Solo Pea Rest is a porcelain disc, 64 millimetres across, with a single dimple sized to hold one garden pea of average size. It is glazed, dishwasher safe and stackable.
Why one
A rest for several peas was considered and rejected. Peas kept together tend to roll. A single pea, properly seated, does not.
| Diameter | 64 mm |
|---|---|
| Dimple | Ø 9 mm |
| Capacity | One pea |
| Material | Porcelain |
| Weight | 38 g |

Updates
What happened next
The Inventor has since put one pea in the dimple, then a second beside it. The second pea rolled. Further testing is not planned.
The Campaign has ended
The Solo Pea Rest reached 18% of its goal. It will not be made this time, and nobody will be charged.
Thank you to the 151 Backers who saw what we saw. The moulds are in storage.
A note on pea sizes
Several Backers have asked whether frozen peas fit. They do. A frozen pea is slightly smaller than a fresh one and seats a little lower in the dimple. This has been tested and is acceptable.

Comments
Will there be a version for chickpeas?
A chickpea would not seat correctly in the dimple. We have no plans for other legumes.
Ordered two so the pea is never alone in the dishwasher.
Is the pea included?
The pea is shown for scale and is not included.
Still hoping it gets there. My pea has nowhere else to go.
Sorry it didn’t make it. The world may not be ready.
Thank you to all 151 Backers. Nobody has been charged. We will return to the problem.
