Story
Mornings are difficult. The sun rises on schedule regardless. The Pocket Sundial gives you back a little control.
Snooze
Press the button on the rim and a hinged cover closes over the dial. For nine minutes, the sundial shows no time at all. Then a spring opens it again and the day resumes.
A proper sundial
Under the cover is a real instrument. The gnomon is set once for your latitude, and the dial is accurate to about fifteen minutes whenever the sun is out.

Everything has shipped
The last Founder’s editions left the workshop this week. Every Pledge has now shipped. If yours has not arrived within two weeks, reply here and we will look into it, after nine minutes.
Cases pass inspection
The re-cut cases close cleanly. Each sundial is now being set and checked by hand at its Backer’s latitude, which is slower than we planned but produces sundials that are correct.
A short delay with the brass
The first batch of brass cases came back from the foundry a little too thick, and the covers did not close fully. A snooze that lets the sun through is not a snooze. The cases are being re-cut, which moves shipping back by about four weeks.

Does the snooze work on cloudy days?
On cloudy days the sundial is already resting. The snooze is available but not needed.
Backed brass. It feels like the kind of thing that should be brass.

The same way, by moonlight. Accuracy is lower and depends on the phase.
