Six PRs shipped today, but the sharpest thread is a guard that didn't
actually guard. A scheduled prune-trial sweep found .agents/prune-trials.yml
corrupted — a prior edit had merged two trial entries into one, which the
strict YAML parser rejected outright but Python's lenient parser had silently
mangled into shipping unnoticed — and fixed it alongside judging one trial and
opening another
(#1220). While fixing that,
the session found that commit-trailer-guard.sh denied a hand-typed
Co-Authored-By/Claude-Session trailer when piped through standalone, but
did not deny the actual commit that carried one live — the fail-closed
guarantee held in isolation but not in practice, though the landed values
happened to be correct this time. Elsewhere: an audit-docs sweep landed four
findings (#1218), a
frictions-to-fixes cycle filed two issues and merged two PRs on audit-skills
bracketing and a dispatched-subagent stall caveat
(#1216,
#1217), an audit-skills sweep
found nothing to change, a new Eyra blog post went out
(#1219), and yesterday's
Digest merged with its retention sweep
(#1213).
Shipped: #1220 prune-trial ledger fix + verdict · #1219 blog post · #1218 audit-docs sweep · #1217 audit-skills bracketing fix · #1216 dispatched-subagent stall doc · #1213 2026-09-10 Digest Sessions: 6 (all completed) · Frictions: 7 logged (2 major, 2 minor, 3 nit) — sharpest: the commit-trailer guard's fail-closed guarantee didn't hold on a live tool call despite passing standalone.
